PERSPECTIVES
The Mississippi River itself has so many attributes and variety of appearances everyone and anyone can get something different from the River on any given day.
"Inspiration of the River" is about "heart and soul" "feelings and facts" "Americana -for better or worse"
"Old Timers" "NewComers" canoes, kayak's, barges, boats and captains.
The Mississippi River inspires and so this is about people who live, people who travel, people who use and people who abuse the River.
In the end this is about perspectives and what I saw, what I lived, what I heard and what I handled with my own hands on River with many nicknames
but a fame all it's own: "Mississippi"
The Mississippi River has been dredged, damned, cultivated, added to subtracted from, directed, re-directed, diked, flooded, changed course, left wild, polluted, developed and re-developed, plotted, mapped and re-districted many times. Though many sections could be designed, we choose to think of it as three distinct area's based on those who wentfrom HeadWaters to GulfWaters on it. These sections are purely our own.
UPPER
As I visit, camp, live and breathe on the Upper Mississippi River I might as well just say "Minnesota" because most of the Upper is in fact the State of Minnessota as the River winds and winds and winds and winds with a few lakes thrown in and oh yeah did I say winds and winds and winds....,
MIDDLE
Now about the time I finally got to the Middle is when people tell me I get to camp on Sand bars and duck Barges heading up and down the Mississippi River Freeway for boats.
And that is what it is like, a freeway for barges in the main channel that is.
LOWER
More Sandbars and HOT WEATHER I had and swam alot as well as an occasional storm or two. Often Thunder storms came and went with rain in the afternoons but clear in the mornings and nights.. Poverty seemed evident everywhere I landed and cities were redeveloping but people had hearts of gold and caring.
